- Is there a cholesterol pill besides statins?Yes: ezetimibe, bempedoic acid, and since 2026 Lipfendra (enlicitide), the first PCSK9 inhibitor taken as a daily pill.
- Is it better to raise the statin dose or add a second medicine?Both work. A moderate statin plus ezetimibe lowers LDL about as much as a high dose, often with fewer side effects.
